Neven has a great post up about models and how they are not doing a good job at predicting ice melt in the arctic. The problem with this is that politicians and talking heads drag out the models and tell people not to worry, everything will be fine, look here -- the ice won't melt until 2070.

Cryoscientists expect that the arctic will go 90% ice free for a short period (2-4 weeks) within the next few years, with the ice free period lengthening from weeks to months.
